The Comeback (HBO, 10 p.m.): It’s been a long, weird road for both Valerie Cherish and the show within a show within a show that made her an icon. The Comeback‘s abbreviated first season seemed destined to linger on lists like our own “One Season Wonders” until HBO realized the mock reality series was less prescient now than wholly relevant and revived it for a second season. We’re not sure what’s going to happen to it next, but we hope tonight’s second season finale isn’t another series finale after all.
