The actor: When Timothy Hutton first tried his hand at acting, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to make a career of it. He maintained that uncertainty up through the point when he was making 1980’s Ordinary People, but he apparently made up his mind somewhere around the time he won his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the role. Hutton worked steadily on the big screen throughout the ’80s (Taps, The Falcon And The Snowman, Turk 182) and the ’90s (Q&A, The Dark Half, Beautiful Girls), and continues to appear in films.
