Newswire: Tribeca Film Festival to hold a Jon Stewart-mediated GoodFellas reunion

In a setup seemingly designed to allow local TV anchormen to deliver painful lines like, “Let’s hope no one calls this late-night host funny like a clown,” 25 minutes into the six o’clock news, Jon Stewart will be hosting a GoodFellas reunion on the closing night of the Tribeca Film Festival. In a statement, Tribeca said the April 25th event will follow a screening of the movie—remastered from a 4k scan of the original film negative—held in honor of its 25th anniversary. (“You talkin’ to me?” the anchormen will erroneously continue.)

Stewart will be the fuckin’ mumbling, stuttering little fuck moderating a conversation after the screening with the film’s “creators and cast members,” a group that will likely include director Martin Scorsese; screenwriter Nick Pileggi; and actors Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Paul Sorvino, and Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro.
