Newswire: Toronto hotel dumps the Trump brand to revive business

While most Americans can only dream of finding the legal means to oust Trump, a Toronto hotel has just ended its association with the sherbet-colored loudmouth. Bloomberg Politics first reported on the story of the Adelaide Hotel Toronto (as it’s currently named) paying millions of dollars to get out of its licensing deal with the Trump International Hotel & Tower brand in late June. The dissolution is part of an overall plan to revamp the property, which is owned by JCF Capital ULC. At the time, Bloomberg indicated Trump’s name could be removed from the building as early as August 1, but those five letters were scraped off on July 18, a full two weeks ahead of schedule.
