Newswire: Theatrical version of Montage Of Heck to include unreleased Kurt Cobain demo

Nirvana fans who shell out to see Brett Morgen’s HBO documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck in theaters will get a little bonus to go along with getting to watch a bunch of grainy home movies get projected on the big screen. Morgen has announced that, although the re-release of the film will use the same footage that aired on HBO back in May, the new version will also include music from an unreleased demo tape of Cobain’s that he found while researching and putting the film together.

The new track, pulled from one of dozens of the artist’s old cassettes that Morgen sifted through, apparently features Cobain singing in falsetto, as well as “dense slow-shred-slow guitar,” which certainly sounds like it’ll be pretty shreddy, and also maybe slow. Morgen hasn’t revealed where in the movie the song will be mixed in, apparently to thwart …
