Newswire: The CW is revving up another Supernatural spin-off attempt

Fire up the 1967 Chevy Impala, because another spin-off attempt is in the works at Supernatural. Deadline reports The CW is developing Wayward Sisters, a new spinoff series featuring Sheriff Jody Mills, a recurring character on the show. Actor Kim Rhodes, who plays Sheriff Mills, is already attached, and the plot finds her no-nonsense badass taking on “a group of troubled young women, all of them orphaned by supernatural tragedy. Under Mills’ training and protection, these women will emerge as a supreme monster-fighting force.” No word which character will love eating burgers, drinking beer, and getting laid, but if it’s a Supernatural spinoff, surely one of them will.

The plan is to introduce the series via a backdoor pilot episode airing as part of Supernatural’s upcoming 13th season. Hopefully, this will go better than the last time The CW tried that move. The network attempted to do the …
