Newswire: Sony is no longer taking Michael Peña’s The Bringing

We haven’t heard a whole lot about horror film The Bringing, other than that Nicolas Winding Refn almost directed it a few years ago and that Ant-Man scene-stealer Michael Peña will star in it, but now Deadline is reporting that Columbia Pictures and parent company Sony Pictures Entertainment have dropped the project. Plus, not only is The Bringing now without a studio, but Deadline also notes that it has lost formerly attached director Jeremy Lovering as well. There’s no word on any other studios interested in picking up The Bringing.

The film is based on the true story of a woman named Elisa Lam whose body was found in the water tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles in 2013.
