Newswire: Slowdive is working on new music

Aside from the first time these bands were popular in the ’90s, there’s never been a better time to be a shoegaze fan. One of the more prominent recently revived shoegaze bands is Slowdive, which went on a world tour that included a set at the Pitchfork Music Festival last year. And although frontman Neil Halstead joked that the band would only reunite for “just shitloads of money,” making new music was also part of his and his cohorts’ reunion plans. As Halstead told Spin last year, “while we’re rehearsing [on tour] we can see if we’ve got another record in us.”

And apparently they do, because, as the band’s label Creation Records reports on its website, singer/guitarist Rachel Goswell has been dropping some pretty heavy hints that the band is working on new music on social media. No definite title, release date, or format …
