Newswire: Sam Raimi and Kevin Sorbo re-team for “miracles” drama at NBC

Deadline is reporting that NBC has picked up a new drama from Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and Kevin Sorbo, the team that, once upon a time in the ’90s, helped rule the syndicated TV airwaves with Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Now, 20 years later, Sorbo is going from demigod to man of god, for a series about a guy granted the power to perform miracles.

Titled Miracle Man, the series will star Sorbo as a former Army Ranger gifted with “the ability to make miracles happen, marvels often small but real”—like, say, Sam Raimi managing to make a faithfully great Evil Dead show more than two decades after Army Of Darkness—“that can change people’s lives.” Sorbo’s character will go on a quest for the truth behind his new powers, while also working to reconcile with his estranged wife and kid.
