Newswire: President Obama and others pay tribute to “The Greatest”

As the world mourns boxing legend Muhammad Ali, social media has understandably exploded with tributes to the man, highlighting his societal impact and mesmerizing way with words. Some have come courtesy of those whose lives briefly intersected his, like his eventual successor Mike Tyson, or Sylvester Stallone, whose Rocky was reportedly inspired by one of Ali’s rare losses.

Others come from those who knew him on a more personal level—sometimes, by battling him in the ring. George Foreman took to Twitter today to eulogize his “Rumble In The Jungle” opponent, saying, “A part of me slipped away. ‘The Greatest’ piece.”

Ali, Frazier & Foreman we were 1 guy a part of me slipped away “the greatest piece” Muhammad Ali.
