Newswire: Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan to play a bickering couple living in An Ideal Home

Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan are coming together for a movie marriage match forged in deadpan, sarcastic heaven (where all the angels really love how that halo looks atop your head). The two will be play a bickering same-sex couple in An Ideal Home, a new film from Andrew Fleming, Coogan’s director on the underappreciated Hamlet 2. The pair’s characters—extravagant Erasmus (Coogan) and meek Paul (Rudd)—live in a banter-filled equilibrium, thrown off balance when a dinner party is crashed by Coogan’s unmet grandson from a past relationship.

Freed from the purgatorial doldrums of Showtime’s Happyish, Coogan has lined up a number of new projects in the last few months; a new Alan Partridge show is supposedly in the works, and he’s been tapped to play Stan Laurel opposite John C.
