Newswire: Parenthood’s Joy Bryant to co-star on ABC’s The Advocate

As reported by Deadline, Parenthood‘s Joy Bryant will be the “co-lead” in ABC’s drama pilot The Advocate. Kim Raver (Grey’s Anatomy, Revolution) will be the other co-lead, which probably means they work just as hard as a solo lead, but they have to share a desk or something. As we said back in February, The Advocate is based on the life of former talent agent Byrdie Lifson-Pompan, who—after doctors failed to realize she had a brain tumor—left her career to become a The Advocate for people who need help figuring out the (in Deadline‘s words) “chaotic and ever-changing maze that is modern medicine.” Bryant will play “a brilliant doctor” who helps Kim Raver’s character open up a healthcare consulting company.
