Newswire: NBC just can’t quit Tina Fey, Parks And Rec’s Michael Schur

Not long after loosing their last projects into the Netflix wilderness and burning them off in what was euphemistically referred to as an “event,” NBC has decided that it can’t live without 30 Rock creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and Parks And Recreation co-creator Michael Schur.

The network has given a straight-to-series order to two new sitcoms from the creators, each with a female lead. Fey and Carlock’s as-yet-untitled sitcom is a workplace comedy about a millennial who joins a cable news network, potentially combining the youthful ebullience of Kimmy Schmidt and the frazzled desperation of Liz Lemon. The series will be written by Tracey Wigfield, an protege of Fey and Carlock’s who has been working on The Mindy Project since 30 Rock ended in 2013.

Schur’s project doesn’t have a writer lined up yet, but it does have a tentative title: The Good …
