Newswire: John Williams isn’t retiring any time soon

In news that will probably come as a relief to the horn players and timpanists of Hollywood, five-time Academy Award winner John Williams has announced that he’s lined up two more high-profile movie scores to compose. Unsurprisingly, Williams will be contributing music to the next installments of two of the franchises that helped make him a household name (in households where people talk a lot about movie composers, anyway): Indiana Jones and Star Wars.

According to /Film, the 84-year-old Williams has been tapped to write the scores for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII (due out on December 15, 2017), and the recently announced Indiana Jones 5 (due out July 19, 2019, presuming Steven Spielberg can get the cobwebs off of Harrison Ford’s performance by then).
