Newswire: Here’s what’s coming to (and leaving from) Netflix in August

Netflix seems to be shooting for something of a theme in August, presumably to coincide with the release of a highly anticipated original series bringing together a team of superhumanly talented individuals to change the world for the better. We speak, of course of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, the latest in the growing Wet Hot franchise that hits the service on August 4. And yes, there’s also Marvel’s The Defenders, which premiered its first episode (and a new trailer!) at Comic-Con this past weekend and debuts on August 18. Also new in Netflix originals this month is Adam Wingard’s live-action adaptation of Death Note, a more morally ambiguous affair that debuts on August 25.

Perhaps as a mea culpa for canceling the sci-fi siblings’ cult series Sense8, Netflix is adding a handful of Wachowski Sisters titles to its library this month, including Cloud Atlas …
