Newswire: Here come the Oasis reunion tour rumors
It’s been seven years since alleged potato Noel Gallagher walked away from Oasis (and, not coincidentally, his often fractious relationship with his brother Liam). Now it sounds like the members of one of Britpop’s most influential bands might be ready to bury the brotherly hatchet, with NME reporting on rumors that an Oasis reunion might be coming soon.
Apparently, there are claims moving through the music press this week that Oasis has begun organizing opening bands for a planned reunion tour. Most notable among the names being bandied about: Ride, which features former Oasis bassist Andy Bell as one of its founding members. Meanwhile, odds-makers have reportedly stopped taking money on when the band might reform, which seems as strong a point as any in favor of a reunion some time soon.
