Newswire: Fox makes a pact with Lucifer (and Minority Report)
NBC’s recent attempt at a supernatural drama series based on a Vertigo comics character didn’t go so well, but maybe Fox’s will fare better. After all, the network just made a deal with Jerry Bruckheimer. (What, you thought we were going to say the Devil?)
The network has officially picked up Lucifer, executive produced by Bruckheimer, Californication creator Tom Kapinos, and Sleepy Hollow‘s Len Wiseman and starring Welsh actor Tom Ellis as the suave Lord of Hell. Weary of hanging out with the tortured souls of history’s greatest monsters (Ted Bundy seems like he would be a chatty one), Lucifer abandons his post for what Deadline calls “the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.” In other words, a police procedural. Kapinos wrote the script for the pilot, which was directed by Wiseman.
