Newswire: Foo Fighters announce new album, their own festival

The Foo Fighters have been teasing new music for a while now; earlier this month, the band released its first single in a few years, “Run,” and finished a recent show in Reykjavik by busting out a bunch of previously unheard tunes. Now, the group has announced that a new studio album is on its way, with Variety reporting that Concrete And Gold is set to arrive on September 15. The album—the band’s ninth—will see them team up with an unlikely producer: pop mastermind Greg Kurstin, who’s previously worked with folks like Katy Perry, Adele, and Pink. “I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever,” frontman Dave Grohl said in a statement. “To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement… Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper… or something like that.”
