Newswire: Elizabeth Banks is developing a comedy about a man who joins a wedding band

We recently learned Elizabeth Banks might soon be putting Charlie’s Angels back to work, and now Variety reports that she and husband Max Handelman may also be producing a comedy about a failed singer who finds work in a wedding band. The show is called Front Man, and it comes from Suburgatory and Selfie creator Emily Kapnek, who will also executive produce. Fox has committed to a pilot production, which Banks will direct in the event it gets an order.

Front Man centers on Paul, a 30-year-old man whose spoiled upbringing has led him to waste years on an unsuccessful singing career. When he’s “wrenched from the comfort of his family home”—otherwise known as reaching adulthood—Paul must find a way to support himself.
