Newswire: Drake is Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year

It’s now December, so we should be bracing ourselves for the deluge of year-end lists along with winter. Spotify has already deployed most of its arsenal, sharing its most-streamed songs and artists, with former Canadian TV teen and current rap superstar Drake nabbing the top spot. The “6 God” rapper racked up 1.8 billion streams in 2015, with over 210,000,000 plays on “Hotline Bling” alone. Drake edged out last year’s winner, Ed Sheeran, who came in second in 2015, followed by The Weeknd, Maroon 5, and Kanye West.

Drake’s second and third most-streamed songs were “Jumpman” and the Meek Mill-diss track “Back To Back,” neither of which came off his latest album.
