Club‘s monthly sci-fi film series, Science Friction, continues tonight at 7:30 at Alamo Drafthouse Denver with The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension! Released in 1984 and directed by W. D. Richter (Invasion Of The Body Snatchers), this gonzo sci-fi adventure stars a pre-RoboCop Peter Weller as the zany, rocking, erratically brilliant Buckaroo Banzai. A man of superhuman talents who must confront an alien plot to take over the world (while not accidentally ordering the destruction of the U.S.S.R.), Buckaroo is a hero for the 21st century, TODAY! Or, um, yesterday. Like, back in the ’80s.
