Newswire: Connie Britton signs on for American Crime Story
In what is either a smart career move or a continuation of her character’s storyline from the first season of American Horror Story, Variety reports that Connie Britton will continue to haunt the hallucinatory murder house of Ryan Murphy’s imagination with a role on American Crime Story.
American Crime Story—not to be confused with American Crime—is just one of several projects Murphy is developing for TV at the moment. The first season will tell the tale of the O.J. Simpson trial, presenting the intriguing possibility of a Judge Ito musical dream sequence. Britton joins a cast that already includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, David Schwimmer as lead defense attorney Robert Kardashian, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran, and John Travolta, who will pay Simpson defense attorney Robert Shapiro.
