Newswire: Bryan Singer’s next movie will be 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

Here’s some nice throwback news: For the first time in over a year, somebody is making a movie based on Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. This time it isn’t the Smallville people or David Fincher, though, it’s Bryan Singer. That comes from Collider, which reports that Singer posted a photo today on Instagram of a 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea script, indicating in the caption that it will be his next project after X-Men: Apocalypse. Singer also has a “story by” credit on the script, alongside screenwriters Rick Sordelet and Dan Studney (Jack The Giant Slayer). Singer says that 20,000 Leagues is a story that he has “wanted to re-tell since childhood,” and that his take will be “an epic and emotional adventure for all ages.” The original story is about a marine biologist who, through a series of dramatic events …
