Newswire: Brie Larson and Russell Crowe might be shipping off to Kong: Skull Island

Now that Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons have been scared off of Kong: Skull Island—most likely after seeing that the island was shaped like a skull, which is super scary—Legendary Pictures has found itself with a few open seats on the Skull Island Tours boat that it chartered. Deadline says one of those seats will probably be taken by Brie Larson, who is in talks to play the film’s female lead. Keeping this whole boat theme going, The Wrap adds that Russell Crowe is “being eyed” to fill one of the seats abandoned by Keaton and Simmons, though his involvement sounds like it’s less of a sure thing than Larson’s.
