Newswire: Brace yourself (for disappointment): George R.R. Martin’s Winds Of Winter is not coming soon

Fans of George R.R. Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire series have at least another year to wait as the series’ publisher confirmed today that The Winds Of Winter won’t be released in 2015. “I have no information on likely delivery,” Jane Johnson of HarperCollins said, before chastising fans for being impatient: “These are increasingly complex books and require immense amounts of concentration to write,” she said. “Fans really ought to appreciate that the length of these monsters is equivalent to two or three novels by other writers.”

Martin’s last, A Dance With Dragons, was released in 2011. The author recently published excerpts from The Winds Of Winter on his blog, leading some to believe the rest of the novel might be forthcoming. Martin was quick to quash speculation over encoded release dates hidden within the excerpt, however, writing:
