As the sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby continue to pile up, one of the most frustrating aspects of the whole sad affair has been the impossibility of prosecuting the cases in criminal court. The statue of limitations on most of the cases has long since passed, leading to a series of suits and countersuits as the accusers are left to seek retribution in civil court. Emphasis on the “most,” as NPR reports that prosecutors in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania—a suburban township outside of Philadelphia—have formally filed felony sexual assault charges against Cosby.
