Newswire: Avengers: Age Of Ultron won’t be getting a director’s cut, is already pretty long

By most accounts, Joss Whedon’s Avengers sequel, Age Of Ultron, was a lot of robot-smashing fun. One common complaint, though, was that the 141-minute film wasn’t nearly long enough. Or, at the very least, that it wasted far too much time on Thor hanging out in a cave. We’re not even joking now. That cave stuff was stupid, and it took a lot of time away from robot smashing. Frankly, we’re still really upset about that.

Joss Whedon was actually upset about that too, for a while. In an interview he gave after the movie came out, Whedon basically confirmed that Marvel forced him to put the cave scene in the movie as a setup for future MCU stories. This information, combined with an earlier report that suggested the blu-ray version of Age Of Ultron would have an “extended” cut of the movie, was enough to …
