Newswire: American Gods finally has a premiere date

Like the existence of the deities whose mounting tensions mark its central conflict, a great deal of mystery has swirled around the premiere of Starz’s American Gods. Well, humankind’s ability to connect with American Gods now has a calendar date on it: The Bryan Fuller-run Neil Gaiman adaptation will arrive, in all its CGI- boner splendor, on Sunday, April 30 at 9 p.m. The announcement comes via a network press release accompanied by new key art for the series, which finds Ian McShane’s Mr. Wednesday and his bodyguard, Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) basking in rays of heavenly light, their boxy vintage automobile blocked by a portentous (and sacred) white bison. And then there’s the tagline, “believe,” as in “Believe that American Gods will debut at the end of an increasingly busy month for highly anticipated TV, what with Fargo, Better Call Saul, and The Leftovers …
