Newswire: Amazon Studios to produce Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck

Not content to merely sell every form of media and rule the skies with its army of drones, Amazon is also committed to breaking into the movie business. The online empire started strong with its first film, Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq, and are following that film with more top-flight directors: Amazon is set to distribute Nicolas Winding Refn’s new movie, Woody Allen is (reluctantly) making a TV show for the streaming service, and now Amazon Studios is producing the next film from Todd Haynes, currently basking in acclaim for Carol.

Indiewire reports that Amazon will be financing and distributing Haynes’ next picture, an adaptation of Brian Selznick’s 2011 book Wonderstruck.
