Newswire: Amazon picks up comedy pilot from Sacha Baron Cohen and Nebraska’s Bob Nelson

As Netflix continues to enjoy great success by latching onto big brands and making shows like Marvel’s Daredevil, Amazon is building up its own streaming service by enlisting famous people to make things that aren’t about blind superheroes/lawyers. Its latest acquisition, as reported by Deadline, is Highston, which comes from the certifiably famous mind of Sacha Baron Cohen.

The pilot will be written by Nebraska‘s Bob Nelson—his very first pilot order—and it reportedly revolves around a “kind 19-year-old” named Highston Liggetts. He’s not just a regular teenager, though, because that’s not what happens on TV. When Highston “encounters a world he doesn’t understand,” he “retreats into his vast imagination” and talks with his “famous ‘friends’.” We’re not sure what that means, but it sounds like imagines celebrities helping him with his problems when he gets freaked out, kind of like …
