Contest: Chicago, see horror movie The Gallows early and for free

Kids: They never learn. In found footage horror The Gallows, teens go snooping around somewhere they shouldn’t and, wouldn’t you know it, run into some trouble. Of course, this isn’t Scooby Doo, it’s a modern horror movie, so people get pulled across rooms by unseen entities, shadowy figures appear in the corner of the frame, and most of it is shot through the lens of a shaky camera. Without any major stars (the biggest name here is Cassidy Gifford, the daughter of Kathie Lee Gifford), The Gallows is just hoping to pull in audiences looking for a good summer scare. The Gallows opens everywhere on July 10, but The A.V. Club and New Line Cinema have an opportunity for you to see it for free on July 8.
